83 is nothing less than a wave on Indian OTT. Needless to say, it was the most anticipated film on the Indian OTT and the result is extremely visible. The film was released on both Netflix and Disney+Hotstar and despite the separation in viewership, the film has garnered great views.
If we consider the subscriber base then Disney+Hotstar has a far wider base than Netflix. Also, it has always kept on trending ever since it landed on the platform. Needless to say, the views it received on Disney+Hotstar has to be higher than what it did on Netflix.
As you can see in the charts, ‘83 was the fourth-highest viewed non-English film on Netflix globally and the number of hours it was viewed dropped drastically from the 5th position onwards.
Quite obviously, people are liking this film and had they realised it a few months back during theatrical release then it would not be such a disaster and Pushpa: The Rise would not become such a big hit.
The sports drama film directed by Kabir Khan has a big star cast that also includes Deepika Padukone in a cameo. But after a pathetic theatrical response, it must be great news for the makers that the film is a hit at least on the OTT.
