Out of a sudden, Ranveer Singh’s 83 got released on both Disney+Hotstar and Netflix. Although the dual release was expected for a long time, the date was never announced and the film started streaming surprisingly on both the streaming giants.
A few weeks back, we conducted a poll and asked about the most anticipated movie on Indian OTT. Our followers on Twitter said that it has to be 83. It looks like they were absolutely correct as 83 seems to have stopped the motion of all the other films/shows.
Even when the film is divided between Netflix and Disney+Hotstar, it is hardly an issue as both the platforms are receiving high clicks on the Kabir Khan directed sports period film.
As you can see from data on Disney+Hotstar and Netflix, the film is trending at Number 1 and is giving tough competition to the other titles available on them. The lack of good Indian films on Netflix is a well-known fact and probably that’s the reason we are seeing mostly English films on it. However, stopping titles like Lalitham Sundaram and Rudra is definitely a great example of the long wait fans had to go through before 83 finally started streaming.
