There will soon be an animated series on the football legend Lionel Messi. Messi and Sony Music Entertainment are signing a deal with Atlantis Animation for the project.
The series will feature a younger Lionel Messi and his world of video games. The makers have confirmed it will be an innovative and modern approach and Messi will venture through video games in the story. His love for football will be the USP of the show. There may be multiple universes there as well.
There will be songs by multiple international artists and they will be under the banner of Sony. Atlantis Animation is associated with some famous animated projects like ‘Arcane’ and this Lionel Messi project is a big deal for the company. The legendary footballer has expressed his excitement in the project.
Apart from this, there will be a four part documentary series on the player as well. It is being produced by Tim Pastore, Patrick Milling-Smith, Brian Carmody and Matt Renner under the banner of Smuggler Entertainment and it is now heading to AppleTV+.
The docuseries is not titled yet but is filmed in various locations including Qatar, Paris and Argentina. The filmmakers followed Messi throughout his epic win at the 2022 football world cup and it will contribute to the major part of the story. There are no announcements made as for the release.
