In an interview, screenwriter Akela Cooper, who had written ‘M3GAN’ with James Wan, has teased that there is a possibility of having an unrated version of the horror movie which will be gorier and will have a higher body count.
The makers have confirmed that there will be sequels, but the news of an unrated version of M3GAN is really a surprise to the fans. The writer has confirmed that there was a higher body count in the script which were not in the movie. Gore and body horror is a very unexplored genre right now and once there is one huge hit, it will change drastically. There is still a need of fun horror movies and Akela Cooper hopes that the unrated version of M3GAN will do a great job.
M3GAN is a 2022 science fiction horror directed by Gerard Johnstone and stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw and Amie Donald in the lead roles. The movie had its premiere on the 7th of December last year in Los Angeles and released in the Whole United States on the 6th of January 2023.
The film tells the story of M3GAN, a life-like toy doll with artificial intelligence who develops a consciousness and kills everybody who wants to come between her and her human companion, Gemma. The movie already made 45 million US Dollars at the box office and is praised by audiences and critics equally.
M3GAN is the perfect blend of horror, humour and science fiction and it is curious how the makers will keep the humour intact in a gory, violent version of the movie. The makers and the writers of the film are hopeful that there will be a good market for horror films after the success of the film and the fun in horror will be back.
