Here is a recommendation for your weekend watch. ‘Avane Srimannarayana’ or ‘Adventures Of Srimannarayana’ came out in 2019 and is a western styled comedy thriller. It stars the beloved Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty in the lead role and is directed by Sachin Ravi.
‘Adventures Of Srimannarayana’ is a wonderful mix of the cowboy stories with Indian folklore. It is a thriller, with elements of fantasy, comedy, hunt adventures and romance. If you have not started on Kannada movies yet, this can be a great starting point.
The movie tells the story of Srimannarayana, a police officer who is recruited in the city of Amravati. Srimannarayana brags about his various adventures and exploits but nobody has ever seen him doing anything. He soon gets to find out that a clan of dacoity, led by a dangerous criminal Jairam, is looking for a lost treasure and they are disturbing public life in Amravati. Everybody is afraid of Jairam and his gang, and Srimannarayana, the filmy police officer, says that he will solve the problem. The film goes on with wonderful music, and sudden surprises. There are beautiful performances by the star cast. Achyuth Kumar plays the role of Srimannarayana’s assistant. Shanvi Srivastava plays the role of Lakshmi, the love interest of Sriman and member of another mysterious gang. There is an interesting cameo from Rishabh Shetty as well.
The wonderful music is composed by Charan Raj and B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The cinematography is beautiful, and the screenwriting is flawless. There can only be praises for the movie. It is available to watch in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam on Aha and Prime Video.
