American actor Jesse Eisenberg rose to worldwide fame with his eccentric portrayal of American businessman, Mark Zuckerberg, aka the co-founder of the social media service Facebook. For the same, he received an Academy Award and a Golden Globe nomination. He is also the recipient of numerous other accolades.
His latest return to the big screen comes with ‘A Real Pain’, a comedy-drama film, written, directed, and produced by Eisenberg himself. The film starring Eisenberg, Kieran Culkin, Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, Liza Sadovy, and Daniel Oreskes, will premiere in theatres on October 18 this year.
The first trailer for the highly buzzed sophomore feature from the actor seems to be 60 seconds of pure hilarity and chaos as David and Benji, a duo of cousins en route to Poland to honor their grandmother.
However, as is usual with families, older tensions resurface against the backdrop of a dysfunctional family history. Coupled with a quirky background score, the teaser features photomontages of what can only be termed as a not-so-normal vacation.
Warm tones, coupled with few words, make the trailer a perfect preview into a film that is being hailed already as a strong awards contender. And why wouldn’t it be? It was the first movie snapped up from this year’s Sundance Film Festival, by Searchlight Pictures!
