Imagine your life has nothing real in it. All the friends, even your family is not your own. You are being sold as a commodity right from your birth and nobody cares about it.
But one can tolerate this idea through the memes of “my whole life was a lie”. Imagine being unaware of this and imagine being forced into living your life.
That sounds very very dystopian but is the premise of the highly celebrated film The Truman Show. Led by comedy star Jim Carrey, the film is a drama of a very thought-provoking nature.
Celebrated director Peter Weir directed this film and soon it became a hit.
It is the story of a man who was born and raised in a reality TV show. Right from his birth to his adulthood, his life was being shot and telecasted on TV. Even his childhood friends were planted in his early childhood and remained with him for years.
The film goes to the extremes of imagination. Quite obviously this premise is almost impossible to implement in real life. But even after that, The Truman Show is a must-watch.
For it gives us many instances which require immense thought and action in our lives.
The film will leave Prime Video after 10 days only, so don’t miss watching it before that.
