Indie production studio A24 is seemingly having the best year for a production house so far. ‘Civil War’, its most recent project directed by Alex Garland broke all sorts of box office records as it reigned at No.1 at the international box office for weeks. Furthermore, it has highly anticipated titles like ‘MaXXXine’, ‘Tuesday’ and ‘Janet Planet’ coming up.
To add to its list of future titles is its most recent partnership with filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou. This comes following their collaboration on the hit horror feature ‘Talk To Me’, the title that became A24’s highest domestic grosser last year. The parties are now re-teaming for another original horror movie ‘Bring Her Back’.
The cherry on top? The team has two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins on board to star as a lead in the movie. The multi-accolade recipient has won a Golden Globe Award in addition to nominations for two British Academy Film Awards. She has appeared in a plethora of acclaimed titles like ‘Shape of Water’, ‘Wonka’, the Paddington franchise, the Godzilla franchise, and more.
However, Hawkins has only appeared in only one horror movie so far, back in 2007’s ‘WΔZ’. While plot details are being kept under wraps on the secretive project, the collaboration has fans of the studio and the actress extremely riled up!
