Popular Marathi actor Abhishek Deshmukh has bagged a crucial role in Omi Vaidya‘s upcoming directional film. The former is prominent for playing Yash Deshmukh in Star Pravah’s popular Marathi drama series, Aai Kuthe Kay Karte. On the other hand, we all know the latter as he portrayed Chatur aka Silencer in Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster, 3 Idiots. The forthcoming project will be Vaidya’s first-ever Marathi project.
It is not like Omi has not directed anything yet. He has helmed a couple of small projects, Out of Time and The Desert Rose, both dispatched in 2007. Indian cinephiles better know him for his supporting roles in 3 Idiots, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, Desi Boyz, Players, Jodi Breakers, and many more.
Deshmukh shared his excitement about the project in his latest Instagram post. He has shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from the movie’s set with the caption “Something is cooking”. Additionally, he thanked Vaidya and the entire team for bestowing him with this grand opportunity.
The on-screen Yash Deshmukh is simultaneously handling the shoots of both Aai Kuthe Kay Karte and his upcoming film. And he is quite pleased with the balance he is maintaining between movies and the TV world. The Marathi television star has also played an important role in Home Sweet Home (2018).
However, Abhishek Deshmukh or Omi Vaidya are yet to disclose the release window of their impending Marathi film. Stay tuned for more updates.
