Bid goodbye when you are still capable; that’s a term very much used in the world of sports, but The Good Doctor might use the strategy, and that too for good. ABC is putting to rest one of its greatest shows, The Good Doctor, and though it might break some hearts of the fans, it is the right time for it to rest.
Now, if you ever followed a medical drama, one thing that is common: they are EXCESSIVELY LONG.
But The Good Doctor makes an exception as Season 7 marks the end of the series as the final season airs in February 2024.
The series started in 2017 and instantly became a hit. Now, talking about prodigy is not a new concept, but incorporating it with the essence of a medical drama—what’s there to hate about it? Two absolutely beloved genres in a bunch, and fans loved The Good Doctor.
“The Good Doctor” follows Dr. Shaun Murphy, a brilliant young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, as he navigates the challenges of working at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.
Shaun’s extraordinary medical talents are contrasted by his struggles to connect with colleagues, especially with his autism, and the series gained massive traction.
But as the sixth season hit the market, the view count was slowly going down, as the makers realized that the viewers were getting saturated. And it was definitely a good point to end the show as this season will be the last of the bunch.
Currently, the show is being streamed on Netflix and Sony LIV as the first episode of the last season drops on 20th February 2024.
