The SRK and Siddharth Anand pairing was already a major hit with a film like Pathaan. If you add the brilliance of Sujoy Ghosh, fans are anticipating only positives from the upcoming film King.
But there was a big question: who will be the antagonist?
It’s almost confirmed that Abhishek Bachchan will play the role of the villain in King. On July 15th, strong rumors emerged that Abhishek Bachchan will take on this role. Though it isn’t officially confirmed, Amitabh Bachchan, through his tweet, gave a green light to the ongoing rumors. We will likely see Abhishek Bachchan as the villain.
And after working on two films together, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Happy New Year, the pair will be back to complete their trilogy.
There was also confirmation that SRK will share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan. Though the majority of the details are being kept under wraps, the association with Siddharth Anand promises top-notch action sequences throughout the film.
Some sources have confirmed that the makers will collaborate with experts from the West to bring in action and stunt expertise to level up the game. Additionally, King promises to excel in VFX, which excites fans even more.
According to pre-production reports, King will be highly ambitious, with the director-producer duo aiming to create something for a global audience. The rumored budget for the film is around ₹200Cr. Filming will start later this year, and we can expect a late 2025 release.
The project is definitely quite big. SRK and Abhishek Bachchan need to hit the chemistry off. Since his comeback, SRK has turned himself into a reliable hit machine, and Abhishek Bachchan has taken his acting game to a whole new level. The wait for King begins, and the only thing it needs to do is not become just another action film in the market. Though star power is there, King needs to be more than that.
