Abhishek Bachchan’s next ‘Dasvi’ is all set to skip theatres and release on OTT. A social comedy drama, ‘Dasvi’ is helmed by Tushar Jalota and will release on Netflix and Jio Cinema simultaneously on 7th April, 2022.
The official announcement video of ‘Dasvi’ released today on social media has Abhishek Bachchan donning a Haryanvi accent and dressed in a kurta pyjama with moustache and beard to add to the look. In the video he declares that he is preparing for class 10th from jail and doing so comes under his right to education.
Abhishek Bachchan took to Twitter to share the video and poster for ‘Dasvi’ and wrote, “From one student to another, Dasvi ke exams ke liye dher saari best wishes!

Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of Gangaram Chaudhary in ‘Dasvi’ that also stars Yami Gautam as IPS Officer Jyoti Deswal, Nimrat Kaur as Bimla Devi, Manu Rishi Chadha and Arun Kushwah among others.
‘Dasvi’ is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell. The film is written by Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair and Sandeep Leyzell with a story from Ram Bajpai. The composer duo Sachin-Jigar have composed the music for the film.
The production companies behind ‘Dasvi’ are
Maddock Films, Jio Studios and Bake My Cake Films. Maddock Films and Jio Studios had followed a similar release pattern for Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi starrer ‘Mimi’ that too premiered on Netflix and Jio Cinema at the same time. ‘Mimi’ had a pretty successful run and the production houses would be expecting the same out of ‘Dasvi’.
