Diehard OTT enthusiasts might already be aware that OTT giant Netflix had launched a website that houses weekly top ten lists based on the metrics of the total number of hours viewed for a particular title. The portal provides viewership data under four categories namely ‘Films (English)’, ‘Films (Non-English)’, ‘TV (English)’, and ‘TV (Non-English)’.
And only one Indian movie has been able to make it to the Netflix most viewed titles list as per the latest viewership data for the ‘Films (Non-English)’ category. And the movie’s name is ‘Dasvi’.
The Netflix website further states that Dasvi was watched globally for an impressive 5.69 million hours last week, that is, from 4th April to 10th April 2022. Whereas, on the top spot for the most-watched non-English Netflix film is the Polish crime actioner ‘Furioza’, which was watched for a whopping 23.96 million hours the same week.
Besides ‘Furioza’, the other two international movies which rank ahead of India’s ‘Dasvi’ include the South Korean spy action film ‘Yaksha: Ruthless Operations’, and the Argentinian drama ‘All Hail’.
Helmed by Tushar Jalota in his directorial debut, the social comedy-drama film features Abhishek Bachchan in the role of powerful Jaat politician Gangaram Chaudhary. He is sent behind bars for an alleged teacher recruitment scam and makes his wife (Nimrat Kaur) the new CM.
In jail, he has an ego clash with the upright jailor (Yami Gautam). Now the eighth pass politician must prove his mettle and pass the tenth-class exam while learning valuable lessons along the way.
Here’s the full list of the latest Netflix top ten non-English films along with the number of hours viewed.
