Prolific film production company Abundantia Entertainment is all set to bring its next offering for Indian audiences — a crime drama in the most exciting true crime genre. Abundantia Entertainment has joined hands with Scam 1992 co-director Jai Mehta for the film, which will go into pre-production soon. Not much is known of the rest of the cast and crew of the in-development film.
The as yet untitled film is set in the backdrop of middle class India. It recounts the story of one of the most unique true crimes ever to take place in the country. Not just that, it was one of the most challenging crimes ever dealt with by Indian investigative agencies.
As per the makers, it is a unique and thrilling tale, which boasts a set of riveting characters, and compelling twists and turns that promise to keep the audience on the edges of their seats all through.
Jai Mehta, son of stellar filmmaker Hansal Mehta, has not only co-directed one of India’s most successful web series Scam 1992, but has also been creatively involved with acclaimed films such as Omerta, Aligarh, Gangs of Wasseypur 1 & 2, Citylights and Simran.
Abundantia Entertainment has released a slew of films in recent times, both digital as well as theatrical, for instance, Jalsa, Sherni, Shakuntala Devi, Chhorii, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, Airlift, among others.
