Just a couple of days after the announcement of Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer horror flick ‘Chhorii’ under the ambit of the newly instituted Psych brand, Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment earlier today made another exciting announcement.
The latest announcement is regarding its collaboration with senior investigative journalist Pavan C. Lall in relation to adapting the author’s bestselling book namely ‘Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi’. The ground-breaking book is set to be adapted into a multi-season series whose scripting is reportedly underway.
Pavan C. Lall’s well-researched book ‘Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi’ had hit the stands in August 2019. The book purportedly chronicled the journey of Nirav Modi’s early years in the diamond industry, the training, association with his uncle Mehul Choksi, his incredibly glorious success, and the equally astounding fall that shook the country, and ultimately, the aftermath. The book also captured how demonetization and change in PNB management adversely affected the ambitious plan of the impatient diamond merchant.
This is not the first time the controversial and much-publicized case of Nirav Modi is being brought to our screens. Previously, last year’s Netflix series ‘Bad Boy Billionaires’ narrated the case of illegally inflating diamond prices in the episode aptly titled ‘Diamonds Aren’t Forever’.
On the OTT/web-series space, Abundantia Entertainment is behind the acclaimed Madhavan and Amit Sadh starrer series ‘Breathe’ which was followed by a well-received second season ‘Breathe: Into The Shadows’ that marked the OTT debut of Abhishek Bachchan.
Its upcoming web-series slate includes ‘The End’ starring Akshay Kumar, an all-women-led ensemble ‘Hush Hush’, a serialized drama based on the book ‘Men Who Killed Gandhi’, a multi-season crime drama based on the bestselling ‘Rita Ferreira’ books and a remake of the Israeli hit YA series ‘The Missing’.
