Acclaimed American coming-of-age comedy drama ‘Dìdi’ is finally coming to stream in India. Helmed by Sean Wang, ‘Dìdi’ had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January last year before releasing in theatres in July in the U.S.
‘Dìdi’ follows 13 year old Chris, a Taiwanese-American eighth grader (Izaac Wang) at the dawn of social media. The impressionable Taiwanese-American boy soon learns there are many things his family can’t teach him including how to skate, how to flirt and also how to love your mom.
There is something very beautiful about ‘Dìdi’ as to how it captures the nuances of growing up, making decisions and dealing with the pressure of expectations.
‘Dìdi’ has a 96% rating in Rotten Tomatoes and the website consensus reads, “A semi-autobiographical love letter to teenage angst that’s also slyly self-critical, Dìdi is a deeply moving personal statement by writer-director Sean Wang.”
‘Dìdi’ is set to premiere on Jio Cinema this Independence Day on 26th January, 2025 and it is definitely a film you shouldn’t miss.
