The Kannada film follows the life of Toby, who spent his childhood in juvenile halls and remand homes, making him unfamiliar with the better aspects of humanity. Exploited due to his mutism, he becomes a tool for fostering crime and hatred. However, his life takes a positive turn when he meets Jenny, who brings affection and love into his life. Through Jenny’s influence, Toby discovers kindness and love, leading him to embrace parenthood and envision a hopeful future. Fearing the threat to his newfound happiness, Toby must fight against the oppressive forces of the world that seek to label him as heartless and wild, to protect his daughter and the life they’ve built together.
Toby is helmed by debutant director Basil Alchalakkal. The primary mute character is inspired from a short story, written by T.K. Dayanand. The story of Toby is written by Kannada star Raj B. Shetty, who also plays the lead character in the film. Samyukta Hornad, Chaitra Achar, and Deepak Raj Shetty comprise the rest of the cast. The film’s music is composed by Midhun Mukundan.
