‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ started swinging in Indian theatres on 1st June 2023. The animated superhero movie was an instant hit among fans of the genre and the parent film ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ and is doing pretty well theatrically. It has raked in over an impressive $390 million at the box office globally until now.
A couple of days back, speculations about the movie’s digital release date were floating around. It was being said that it will release digitally in the month of July, which got the fans quite excited.
However, one of the film’s writers and producers Christopher Miller has not just debunked those July 2023 digital release rumours about ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ but he has also revealed the actual digital release window for the film. He has said that ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ won’t be released on digital until the month of August at the earliest.
It may be observed that even if a popular Hollywood film releases digitally, it’s not a given that the movie will concurrently be made available for streaming on an Indian OTT platform for regular streaming. But once the film is out on digital, it can be expected that its Indian OTT premiere should soon follow. And ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is no exception. After its expected digital release, the film should start streaming on an Indian OTT platform probably by August end itself.
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ follows the daredevil multi-versal adventures of Miles Morales aka Spider-Man, who teams up with Spider-Woman Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to fight a powerful nemesis. But this creates a rift between Miles Morale and other Spider-People. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the third Spider-Verse movie ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’, which is slated to release next year in March. Meanwhile, stay tuned to Binged for updates on ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ OTT release date in India.
