Kannada actress Ramya is ready to return to cinema after joining the Indian National Congress party in 2012. She even became a Member of Parliament next year. However, her brief stint as the MP of the Mandya constituency in Karnakata ended after she lost during the 2014 General Elections.
Ramya confirmed her return to the cinema via her latest tweet. Although, we will see the actress behind the camera this time. She has launched her own production house, AppleBox Studios. Her studio will produce theatrical as well as OTT content for viewers. KRG Studios will handle the distribution department for the films.

The actress shared a note on Twitter in which she wrote, “I am going to be doing films again. This time, though, I will also be producing through my boutique production house, AppleBox Studios, which is currently on the threshold of producing two theatrical films that will be distributed by KRG Studios. I’m very excited about both these projects. AppleBox Studios will also be tip-toeing into the OTT domain with films and web series.”
Ramya made her acting debut in the Kannada film industry through Dinesh Babu’s Abhi (2003), opposite Puneeth Rajkumar. She rose to prominence after bagging Filmfare Awards (Best Actress) for her performances in Amrithadhare (2005) and Tananam Tananam (2006). Many consider her performance as Geetha in Nagashekhar’s Sanju Weds Geetha (2011) her career-best. Stay tuned for more updates.
