Netflix’s love affair with actor Adam Sandler continues. The streaming giant has just dropped the first teaser for its new Adam Sandler movie, ‘Spaceman’. Netflix has also revealed the release date for Spaceman on its platform. The sci-fi movie will premiere on Netflix worldwide on 1st March, 2024.
Netflix original film ‘Spaceman’ is based on the novel ‘Spaceman of Bohemia’, written by Jaroslav Kalfař. Adam Sandler plays the primary character of Jakub, an astronaut adrift in the cosmos. Carey Mulligan plays his wife Lenka, while Paul Dano voices a mysterious ancient creature that Jakub discovers – a stoweaway in his spaceship.
The official synopsis of ‘Spaceman’ reads – “Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late”
Spaceman is directed by Johan Renck. The film also stars Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini in pivotal roles. The movie leaves one with thought-provoking and momentous insights about love, relationships and marriage.
