British actor Mark Strong is a two-time UK National Film Award nominee. Known for his breakthrough roles in the ‘6 Days’ and ‘The Brothers Grimsby’, the actor also has titles like ‘Cruella’, ‘Sherlock Holmes’, ‘Shazam!’, and the Kingsman franchise credited to his name.
For fans of the Brit, we have some good news! Strong has officially been cast in Max’s highly anticipated ‘The Penguin’, a limited TV series. His name has been added to an ensemble cast consisting of Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, and Clancy Brown.
The gritty crime-drama is all set to follow the transformation of Oswald Cobblepot from a disfigured nobody to a notoriously feared Gotham gangster, and eventually one of the biggest supervillains in the DC Comics universe. The Penguin is also known by his aliases: Mr. Boniface; Matthew Richardson; The Gentleman of Crime; Uncle Pengy; and The King of Gotham.
Scheduled for a late 2024 release, the show will span only 8 episodes. Apart from the series, Strong also has ‘Atlas’, a sci-fi thriller upcoming on its slated release date of May 24. Starring Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, and Sterling K Brown, the film revolves around a brilliant data analyst who finds that AI may be her only hope when a mission to capture a renegade robot goes awry.
