Describing ‘Adipurush‘ as the most awaited Indian film of 2023 would not be an overstatement. With the big names involved and the story being what it is, excitement is off the roof for the film. The teaser poster of the film was just released and needless to say, the poster without revealing much, assures us of the ‘epicness’ of the upcoming magnum opus.
The teaser poster reveals Prabhas as Raghava and he can be seen in a bulky avatar. He can be seen aiming his arrow at the sky, one knee on the ground as the ocean roars and lightning strikes in the backdrop, with the sky looking like it’s been set on fire. The poster has fans excited since it’s the first look of Prabhas as Raghava, the previous posters were all concept arts. True to the story, the title is followed by the tagline: ‘Celebrating victory of Good over Evil’.
‘Adipurush’ is reportedly the most expensive Indian film ever made and is being bankrolled by production companies T-series Films and Retrophiles. It will be director Om Raut’s retelling of the Indian epic Ramayana. The film aims to bring to us the epic story on the big screen with modern technology. Made on a budget of ₹500 crores (US$63 million), an amount of ₹250 crores (US$31 million) is estimated to be spent on visual effects alone. The movie is visualized as a visual spectacle and is shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages and is filmed in 3D. The movie besides Prabhas will also star Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Sunny Singh as Lakshmana among others.
A pan-indian film in the true sense of the word, ‘Adipurush’ will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Set to release on January 12, 2023, its teaser and poster will be released on October 2nd, at an event on the Sarayu river bank in Ayodhya.
