The makers have now made it official that Prabhas’s Adipurush will not be released in Sankranti next year. The film’s teaser was released about a month ago and became an example.
It was brutally bashed for its terrible VFX and all moves of whitewashing the animation were downright rejected. After the massive trolling, makers invited some critics to a 3D screening where they claimed the experience to be good.
But it wasn’t.
And the proof lies in the fact that makers have shifted the release date. They did so because of the heavy work which is needed in VFX. So the sinister strategy of illegit good mouth did not work.
According to reports, the already expensive movie is getting an additional budget of 100 crores for perfecting the visuals. But the reason, the makers even agreed to the continuation for as terrible visuals is strange.
But, things are still not going to be easy. The makers of Adipurush need to do something extraordinary to impress the audience as the existing one is too bad, even to rework that.
Seeing Raavan on a bat instead of Pushpak Vimaan ain’t gonna work even if the bat has taken a nice makeover.
Regardless, just the content never works. Because box office success is a result of multiple fortuities. One among them is box office competition.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawaan is coming to theaters on the 2nd Of June. It gives a two-week clean run to Jawaan.
But think about it, will Jawaan (if the film connects with the masses) be fathomable in just two weeks?
The movie will still be reigning the theater chains and Adipurush will have to spend further for a wide-scale theatrical release.
The indirect impact will also be seen in Prabhas’s Salaar. The film is eyeing a September 2023 release. It is highly unlikely that Hombale will release the movie when another biggie of Prabhas was released just 3 months back. It won’t be economically viable for them.
So there are high chances that Salaar will also be postponed.
So things are not going to be easy for not only Adipurush but also Prabhas. Let’s wait for whatever follows.
But, Adipurush will now be released on June 16, 2023.
