Ever since the teaser for ‘Adipurush‘ released on social media last evening, it has received unprecedented bashing on Twitter and YouTube. The Adipurush teaser released on Sunday evening and was instantly panned by everyone – from industry trackers to verified influencers to regular Twitter users.
The trolling has intensified even more since this morning, with netizens calling it everything from a video game to a Game Of Thrones and Planet Of The Apes ripoff, and so on.
The VFX is the main sticking point with Twitter users. Those who’ve seen the teaser are calling it a “700 cr Temple Run”! Several are comparing it to a Pogo TV cartoon, or something out of Chuti TV – both are exclusive TV channels for kids’ cartoons.
Prabhas has been labelled ‘plastic’, Kriti Sanon as artificial, while Saif Ali Khan‘s Ravana has come in for special criticism.
A Twitter user wrote, “Am I the only one who thinks Saif looks more like an IsIamic invαժer than Ravan in #Adipurush?”
Another said, “I mean seriously!!! Are they going to change the name of Ravan to Rizwan? Who is styling his beard? Javid Habib? They have made him look like Alauddin Khilji “.
A social media user wrote about the teaser on the whole – “Adipurush is the most disappointing VFX movie that has ever been made in the history of indian cinema. I had to literally check the YouTube settings to confirm video quality. What a VFX fail!”
Likening the Adipurush teaser to a video game, another Twitter user taunted,
“Is #Adipurush PS5 exclusive or it will release on PC as well?”
While another had this to say, “#Adipurush teaser uses borrowed VFX of typical video games. No character looks Indian. Hanuman et al wear leather like mediaeval Europeans. Sita dresses weirdly in purple giving artificial pose. Not the way Ramayan exists in minds of Hindus since ages or in scriptures. Avoid.

Film critic Anmol Jammwal tweeted,
“The #Adipurush teaser genuinely gives the notion that it’s a high budget animated film than a live action one!”
One of his followers replied,
“It has this blue colour palette that suited Tanhaji, but absolutely doesn’t suit this movie, extremely unnatural vfx that just makes it look like Rajini’s Kochadaiiyaan. The costume design is also so damn average. Even the promotional materials such as the posters have been bad”
