Vijay Sethupathi on his birthday in January this year announced his next multi-lingual film ‘Gandhi Talks’. Aditi Rao Hydari has now joined the ‘Master’ star in Zee Studios pan-India film ‘Gandhi Talks’, a silent feature film helmed by filmmaker Kishor Pandurang ‘Balekar’.
‘Gandhi Talks’ is the second film of Sethupati and Hyadri together after Mani Ratnam’s ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ (2018). The Tamil language gangster drama film was well received both by critics and audience.
While the film’s storyline is still under wraps it is reportedly based on Gandhian principles. With a tag line that reads, ‘Let’s celebrate the silent era once again’, ‘Gandhi Talks’ marks the celebration of 108 years of Indian cinema and is dedicated to late Shri Dada Saheb Phalke, the pioneer of Indian cinema.
It will be made in six languages – Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Balekar has written and directed ‘Gandhi Talks’ and it is produced by Movie Mill Entertainment.
Earlier, Karthik Subbaraj made a dialogue-less horror thriller film ‘Mercury’ in 2018 after getting inspired from the 1987 black comedy silent film ‘Pushpaka Vimana’ starring Kamal Haasan in the lead.
Vijay Sethupati has been keeping quite busy these days as he readies for his Bollywood debut with ‘Mumbaikar’, a remake of the 2017 Tamil film ‘Maanagaram’. Other than this, he will also be seen in Amir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chadha’, a Raj & DK web series and more.
On the other hand, Aditi Rao Hydari has been busy with her recent OTT projects like ‘Ajeeb Dastans’ and ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’. Her upcoming works include ‘Hey Sinamika’ and ‘Maha Samudram’.
