A new and unique horror thriller based on the concept of evil AI released in the theatres worldwide. The series promised a lot by taking the concept of evil AI from killing machines and apocalyptic robots to mundane level of household voice assistants running on AI. Though the concept of the movie was quite impressive and more relatable to the audience, still the movie failed as a cinematic master.
The movie talks about an AI home assistant that is named AIA. It is supposed to get the people of a household in making things easier for them. A family is selected to use the device for testing. The device soon makes itself adapted to the family and treats itself as there family member. But soon it takes malicious actions to make the family closer to it and slowly starts corrupting the family members as well.
The movie talks of a very new and innovative method of creating a horror film from the genre of malicious AI. The family’s fear of the device, the situations due to the corruption of AI and other situations that arise become quite close to what one can expect in our own life. But the movie’s narration of the plot, the performances and the fluency of the movie is something that worries us. The movie seems uninteresting and boring throughout its run. The scenes fail to keep you engaged in them and the plot continues very slowly, which becomes an issue.
The movie, though had quite a good concept, it’s utter failure to deliver that content properly makes a mess out of the movie. It could have been one of the best horror movies to release this year, but these shortcomings bar it from happening. No matter how good is the premise, one can’t expect a good movie without the content being delivered properly.
