Prithviraj gave us a one-of-a-kind performance as Laiq on the Amazon Prime Video streaming feature film, ‘Kuruthi’. The actor’s take on the deranged villainous character took everyone by surprise, but it was an excellent performance from him. However, after seeing his incredible range as an actor (which many already knew he had), did Prithviraj get cast as a villain in the recently unveiled ‘KAAPA’?
Prithviraj had dropped a Twitter post captioned “Stay Tuned”, two days ago. In that tweet, the Malayalam actor had attached a poster that showed an announcement was incoming from the two Big ‘M’s AKA Mohanlal and Mammootty, the very next day at 10 AM. The Tweet is down below:

And come 10 AM on 18th August 2021, we get a unique teaser for an upcoming feature Malayalam film, ‘KAAPA’. Mammootty made the announcement on Facebook, while Mohanlal made it on Twitter. Check out the video below:
According to the background description in the teaser, the film will be set four years after an important incident occurred in Ernakulam, Kerala, years ago, which caused the Chief Minister of the State at the time to renew the KAAPA Act – Kerala Anti-social Activities (Prevention) Act AKA The Goonda Act. The movie will be set in the State capital of Trivandrum where goonda violence was getting out of hand, even after the KAAPA Act was enforced. The film will have an all-star cast featuring Anna Ben, Asif Ali, Manju Warrier and Prithviraj. And although the actor only made a short appearance in a cinematic poster styled teaser – we have a good feeling that this actor is going to be portraying another villain on screen.
Prithviraj is an actor who is known to challenge himself with unique roles, so we can expect the actor to take up more non-heroic/ villainous roles – especially after the success of ‘Kuruthi’, where his performance played a huge part in its success. For now, we will have to wait for the trailer to drop for us to have a better idea about his role in the film.
