The trailer for acclaimed National Award winning filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s next directorial ’Afwaah’ is now out and it’s all about how one rumour changes many lives and most of the time not for good. Produced by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Afwaah’ will release in theatres on 5th May, 2023.
‘Afwaah’ trailer begins with Vicky Bana (Sumeet Vyas), a young aspiring politician giving hate speech and inciting violence. Frustrated with his reckless behaviour his fiancé and a big politician’s daughter Nivi (Bhumi Pednekar) runs away from home.
While on the run she gets caught by Vicky and his men who force her to come back and this leads to her being harassed on the road. Coming in as a good samaritan, unknown of the consequences Rahab, a top advertising professional tries to save her from the harassment which leads them driving away in his car.
Now together on the run for their lives, Rahab and Nivi’s escape video goes viral online giving birth to a baseless rumour that changes their lives forever. On the other hand, enraged by damage to his image, Vicky is hell bent on finding them both.
Written and directed by Sudhir Mishra (‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’, ‘Chameli’, ‘Dharavi’), ‘Afwaah’ stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhumi Pednekar, Sharib Hashmi, Sumit Kaul, Sumeet Vyas, TJ Bhanu, Rocky Raina and Eisha Chopra.
‘Afwaah’ is produced by Anubhav Sinha under his Benaras Media Works banner. Dhrub Kumar Dubey and Sagar Shirgaonkar serve as co-producers for the film. ‘Afwaah’ will release in theatres on 5th May, 2023.
