The recent trailer for the upcoming ‘Agatha All Along’ Disney+ series gives a closer look into the show’s potential storyline while giving more screen time to Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza. The latter will play Rio Vidal in the upcoming MCU project. As for Hahn, she will reprise the wicked protagonist, who was last seen in Disney+’s ‘WandaVision’ series, starring alongside Elizabeth Olsen, who played Scarlet Witch. The show’s finale showed Scarlet Witch giving Agatha the taste of her own medicine by trapping her as her prying and cunning neighbour Agnes persona.
‘Agatha All Along’ will explore the protagonist’s struggles and journey of going down to the very end of the dangerously unpredictable Witches Road to break away from the Scarlet Witch’s mind-trapping spell. Fans will see her doing unimaginable acts and pushing herself to the highest of limits to regain her powers. Plaza’s character, Rio Vidal, will help Agatha achieve her goals in the upcoming MCU show.
Plaza marks her MCU debut as Rio Vidal in ‘Agatha All Along’. Vidal is an original character. It means Vidal has no source material. It doesn’t come from Marvel Comics. So, no one knows exactly what kind of character Rio Vidal will be in the forthcoming Disney+ series.
Based on the recent trailer, we can conclude that Rio Vidal and Agatha Harkness already knew each other before their meeting seen in the clip. According to rumours, Vidal will help Agatha in breaking free. Plus, the former is rumoured to have a romantic past with the protagonist. It looks like Plaza’s Rio Vidal is not a formal member of Harkness’ coven of witches. But she will regularly pop out of nowhere to help Agatha and her allies as they walk down the perilous Witches’ Road.
‘Agatha All Along’ will have a two-episode premiere on September 18 on Disney+ Hotstar for Indian viewers. Stay tuned for more updates.
