Remember the song? “It’s been Agatha all along?” Disney is probably taking that song too seriously as they are now slapping the show with a title change, and it again screams the fact that simplicity isn’t always the key.
The future Disney show starring Kathryn Hahn will now be rebranded as “Agatha,” a shift from the previous long title “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,” which would have definitely been a better choice, carries some amount of weight and sounds far better.
In the pre-Loki era, WandaVision managed to sit on the throne and gained some major critical appreciation in 2021. So, the spin-off was certainly loved by the fans, but Disney might miss the mark as they are possibly extending the time frame and digging their own grave.
This isn’t the first time Disney is investing in a title change; previously, the studio came up with titles such as “Agnes of Westview” or “House of Harkness,” but due to copyright issues, they had to make such necessary changes.
Despite the change, familiar subtitles won’t vanish. Sources revealed that previous subtitles are actually episode titles for the upcoming Agatha series, including “Agnes of Westview” and “House of Harkness.”
Talking about the new series, fans can anticipate the return of the beloved villainous witch, Agatha Harkness. After breaking free from the spell cast by the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision, she finds herself powerless. In her quest to regain her abilities, she teams up with unexpected allies, only to confront her dark past and its consequences. The Agatha series is set to debut on Disney+ in Fall 2024.
