Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is one of the MCU Disney+ shows that are set to premiere this year. It is expected to come out in late 2024. Now, its lead actress, Kathryn Hahn, has offered an exciting update about the upcoming WandaVision spinoff.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kathryn Hahn promised that “people are going to be surprised” while watching Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Check out her complete statement below:
“It’s an amazing cast. I’m in awe of everyone’s work in this show and I think people are going to be surprised. I don’t think they’re gonna think it’s one way and, of course, it’s gonna go a million different avenues kinda like WandaVision.”
In October 2023, the official synopsis of the first episode of the forthcoming WandaVision spinoff revealed that Agatha would break out of Wanda’s spell. After releasing herself from the Scarlet Witch’s powerful spell, she would “go back to her old murderous ways”.
Given the above-mentioned synopsis, it will be interesting to see how Agatha frees herself from Wanda’s spell in Darkhold Diaries. She may also reunite with her former coven members, Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone) and Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza), to get their help in receiving back her lost powers.
Hahn’s take on Agatha Harkness in WandaVision was well-received by fans and critics. The character was an over-the-top but intriguing addition to WandaVision. Agatha quickly gained a huge fan following, forcing Marvel Studios to greenlight a project of her own.
We last watched Agatha in WandaVision’s finale, in which Wanda trapped her inside a powerful magical spell where she was doomed to portray the character of the nosy neighbour. New plot details about Agatha: Darkhold Diaries are yet to surface. But it’s clear that the upcoming spinoff would not serve as a direct continuation of WandaVision. However, the former could touch some of the plot points from the Elizabeth Olsen starrer.
Led by Kathryn Hahn, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is expected to arrive on the Disney+ streaming platform in late 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
