Aha Video used to be an OTT platform exclusively dedicated to Telugu content. Now, two years after conception, the until-now fledging OTT platform is ready to spread its wings. Aha Video is now stepping into the world of Tamil content, through a dedicated platform-within-platform for Tamil content. Titled simply ‘Aha Tamil’, the platform will premiere Aha Original shows, Aha Original movies, direct to digital releases and post-theatrical releases of popular films, all of it in Tamil.
This evening, Aha Tamil embarked on its journey of delivering top quality Tamil content with a bang. The platform launched the First Look Poster of ‘Akash Vaani’, its first ever Tamil series. Tamil star Arya did the honours of launching the first look poster on social media. Akash Vaani marks the web series debut of popular Tamil star Kavin. We will not call Akash Vaani as Kavin’s OTT debut though. His horror film ‘Lift’ skipped theatres and went in for a direct to digital release on Disney Plus Hotstar.
Aha Tamil did not reveal a release date for Akash Vaani yet. The series also stars Reba Monica John as lead alongside Kavin. The series is written and directed by Besides Akash Vaani, Aha Tamil has lined up an impressive slate of content to be released in the coming days. There’s crime thriller ‘Irai’, starring Sarathkumar and directed by Rajesh M Selva; ‘Ammuchi’ Season 2; Samuthirakani’s recent release Writer; an untitled web series from an A-list filmmaker, among others.
