Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is set to get its wide release on November 11. However, before the rest of the world sees the film, Marvel supremo Kevin Fiege says they are already in the talks for a Black Panther 3! With reports of the ending of the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ having an ending that opens up doors for a threequel, fans who have seen the film seem to be excited to return to the fictional superpower nation of Wakanda.
While it is great news that ‘conversations’ are happening regarding a third film, will the director of the first two movies-Ryan Coogler be returning? Unfortunately, there haven’t been any confirmations on the same, though Kevin Fiege iterates that he would prefer if it were so and Coogler returns to helm the next film as well. When asked, Kevin was also quick to dismiss rumors of Ryan being in talks to direct Avengers: Secret Wars. Ryan too says there are no confirmations as of yet regarding his next projects.
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ has been getting a lot of love from the viewers who were lucky enough to see the film before its wide release. Many have termed the film to be the perfect tribute to deceased actor Chadwick Boseman, who originally played Black Panther( T’Challa) in the first movie and the MCU’s ensemble movies. Made on a budget of over $250M, the movie will be one of the costliest movies ever produced.
Sequel to 2018’s ‘Black Panther’, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will officially be the last movie of Phase 4 of the MCU, with Phase 5 starting with next year’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’. As with other movies, the success of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will open up doors for the sequel. With the trade estimation of big weekend numbers for the film, it seems Black Panther 3 is anything but guaranteed.
