Disney Plus Hotstar sprung a surprise on its subscribers by releasing the first look poster of its highly anticipated ‘Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness’. The platform also announced that the trailer for Rudra will be out as early as tomorrow! That means, we’ll even know the release date for Rudra on Disney Plus Hotstar tomorrow, along with the trailer.
Ajay Devgn looks compelling in the poster as Rudra. Disney Plus Hotstar first revealed a teaser sneak peek of Ajay Devgn as Rudra. It was a silhouetted image of the actor, with his back turned towards the viewer. However, eagle-eyed fans quickly guessed that it is Ajay Devgn as Rudra, raising anticipation sky high. Disney Plus Hotstar followed it up with the poster reveal, and the trailer release announcement.
For the unversed, Rudra is the official Indian remake of the popular BBC One crime and investigation drama, ‘Luther’. Hunky British actor Idris Elba plays the titular DCI John Luther in the series. Prolific content creation house Applause Entertainment is producing the Luther Indian remake for Disney Plus Hotstar. Acclaimed filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar (Ferrari Ki Sawari, Ventilator) is helming Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness.
Rudra marks the official OTT debut of Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, the OTT release of his Bhuj notwithstanding. The series will also mark the digital debut of South actress Raashi Khanna. Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness also stars Esha Deol, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, Ashish Vidyarthi, Milind Gunaji, Luke Kenny, Tarun Gehlot, Hemant Kher, Priyanka Setia, among others.
