Ajay Devgn’s long-delayed sports drama ‘Maidaan’ is finally releasing in theatres this Eid, on 10th April, 2024. Ahead of the release of the film, producers Bayview Official and ZEE Studios revealed a new trailer for Maidaan, touted as the “final trailer” of the film.
The new trailer for Maidaan is crisp and interesting, although it does give away quite a bit of the story. Down and out football coach Syed Abdul Rahim (Ajay Devgn) puts together a ragtag bunch of players for the Indian football team from various strata of Indian society, even the much-maligned slums of India. Of course, he has to face much opposition and ridicule from the powers that be for his revolutionary ideas. Is it all worth it in the end?
Besides Ajay Devgn, the trailer for Maidaan gives us glimpses of Priya Mani as his wife, Gajraj Rao as a meddling Indian bureaucrat, and fresh faces as the players. The sequence are riveting to watch, promising a movie worth watching in the theatres. Interestingly, the movie is inspired from real events, and retell the story of Syed Abdul Rahim, widely considered the architect of Indian football.
‘Maidaan’ is produced by Boney Kapoor, along with Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Zee Studios. It is directed by Amit Sharma, who has earlier directed the hit film, Badhaai Ho.
