Directed by Adhik Ravichandran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Good Bad Ugly is an upcoming Tamil action comedy film. Ajith Kumar plays the main role in the movie with Sunil.
Given that it is Ajith’s 63rd film in which he plays the lead, the project was known as AK63 before the announcement. Along with the actual title, the movie was formally announced in March 2024. Devi Sri Prasad wrote the film’s soundtrack, Abinadhan Ramanujam handled the photography, and Vijay Velukutty handled the editing.
Ajith was said to have received ₹165 crore in compensation for a film whose production cost was ₹270 crore. Adhik revealed that although the film was initially supposed to be shot entirely in Tamil, they are now thinking of doing some major Telugu filming as well.
Good Bad Ugly is slated to hit theaters in January 2025, just in time for Pongal. It is planned for release in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and the original Tamil language. The crew wished the director a happy birthday on social media recently, sharing a unique poster that announced the Pongal 2025 release.
While Ajith’s recent films like Thunivu, and Valimai were pretty average at the box office given his star power, only time will tell how Good Bad Ugly will play out and whether it will be a blockbuster during the Pongal festivities.
