‘Agent’, a 2023 Telugu spy action thriller film that was made with lots of hopes and was supposed to be one of the most important films in Akhil Akkineni’s career turned out to be his biggest disaster.
Though its theatrical release hurdles were due to COVID-19 pandemic, the following utter failure at the box office and OTT release getting ensnared in a web of challenges has been nothing less than a horrible nightmare for the makers.
So much so that producer Anil Sunkara and actor Akkineni had to apologise and accept that they rushed into the project without a solid script.
Now that Surender Reddy directorial ‘Agent’ is set to premiere on SonyLIV on 14th March, 2025 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, it will be interesting to see whether people are even bothered about it now after so long. The film also stars Mammootty, Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya and Vikramjeet Virk in prominent roles.
