The duo of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi flabbergasted their respective fanbases after announcing their collaboration for Selfiee at the start of this year. Apart from the leading duo, the movie also has Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty in supporting roles. It will serve as an official remake of the 2019 Malayalam hit film, Driving License, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
Kumar will play a superstar in Selfiee. On the other hand, Hashmi is set to portray a police officer who also happens to be a big fan of Kumar’s character in the upcoming remake. The film’s plot revolves around these two gentlemen and the collision of their egos will make things more interesting.
The makers have revealed the release date of Selfiee. It will hit the big screen on February 24, 2023. The official statement says, “Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames, and Cape of Good Films’ previously announced ‘Selfiee’, starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi along with Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha will now release on February 24, 2023.”
It seems like the bombastic failure of Samrat Prithviraj is not stopping Khiladi Kumar at all. Apart from Selfiee, the actor is busy promoting Aanand L. Rai’s Raksha Bandhan and Abhishek Sharma’s Ram Setu these days. Both movies will hit the theatres on August 11 and October 24 respectively. Additionally, he will portray Lord Shiva in the upcoming sequel of OMG!
