Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s much publicised movie ‘Selfiee’ did not do too well at the theatres, when it released on 24th February, 2023. Being a remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s hit Malayalam film ‘Driving License’ worked against the box office collections of ‘Selfiee’. A lot of film-lovers had already watched the Hindi dubbed version of the film on OTT.

‘Selfiee’ stars Akshay Kumar Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in pivotal roles. It is directed by Raj Mehta, and jointly produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Films, and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Productions. Akshay Kumar plays a film star who seeks a driving licence, while Emraan Hashmi is a Motor Vehicle Inspector, who is a big fan of the star.
Circumstances take a turn for the worse when misunderstandings ensue between the two at the transport office, leading to a clash of egos. The movie takes a long hard look at the perils of fanboyism and the false charms of larger-than-life celebrities.
