Besides that, the movie also made its mark in the Oscars as Soorarai Pottru as an official entry at the 93rd Academy Awards for various categories.

The news of the movie being remade spread like wildfire and people started contemplating as to who will lead the movie in its Hindi adaptation. Now, the buzz is around that the official remake of the movie will be starring Akshay Kumar in the lead. Though, nothing as of now has been confirmed as it is just being mentioned that the talks between the creators and the actors are going on.
The movie was announced to be directed by the original director, Sudha Kongara herself, and will be produced by 2D Entertainment along with Abundantia Entertainment. There was a huge debate as to who amongst Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Ajay Devgn would play the role of Maara in the movie. All four choices were indeed fantastic and perfect for the role that Tamil superstar Suriya essayed so effortlessly.

Along with Akshay Kumar, it would be interesting to see who else gets cast for the Hindi remake of the film. Also, with all these will the makers make it an official adaptation or change parts of the movie to fit the taste of Hindi movie watchers, will be the main question here.
