We had earlier informed our readers that the Hindi dubbed version of Allu Arjun’s blockbuster hit ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ is releasing in theatres this Republic Day. Goldmine Telefilms, the film exhibition company that holds the rights to the Hindi dubbed version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, had made a big splash in social media with its proposed plans. However, the plan to release Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi had caused a lot of heartburn for the makers of ‘Shehzada’, the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Interestingly, Allu Aravind, producer of the original Telugu film, is also one of the producers of Shehzada, along with T-Series and Aman Gill. Their argument was that the box office business of Shehzada would suffer if people from the Hindi belt watched the original Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi.
Ahead of the 26th January release date for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi, producer Allu Aravind reportedly flew down to Mumbai in order to negotiate with Manish Shah, owner of Goldmine Telefilms. His efforts have now borne fruit. Manish Shah has now cancelled his plan to release the Hindi version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in theatres. Shehzada makers and Goldmine Telefilms posted a tweet on their official Twitter handles, announcing that Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi release is cancelled. So everything seems to have worked out to everyone’s satisfaction.
Manish Shah’s plan to release Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi stemmed from the stunning success of Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa in Hindi. The Hindi version of Pushpa has been a smash hit in the theatres, much to the surprise and delight of trade pundits. The Hindi-dubbed version of Pushpa has raked in the moolah, ever since its release a month ago. Such is the craze for the masala entertainer that Pushpa is still making cash registers ring at the Hindi box office despite it being available for streaming on Prime Video.
Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo starred Allu Arjun, Pooja Hegde, Tabu, Murali Sharma, Jayaram, Sushanth, Nivetha Pethuraj, Samuthirakani and Sachin Khedekar, among others. It was a smash hit at the box office when it released in theatres in January 2020.
The Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is titled ‘Shehzada’. It stars Kartik Aaryan in the titular role, alongside Kriti Sanon, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Ronit Roy, Sachin Khedekar, Shalini Kapoor and Ali Asgar.
