Kartik Aaryan fans are excited post the update on social media that he recently shared. Kartik took to Instagram to celebrate his return to a film set after 5 months. The actor reportedly returned to the sets to kick off shooting for his upcoming film ‘Freddy’, helmed by ‘Veere Di Wedding’ director Shashanka Ghosh. The upcoming romantic thriller is jointly being produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Northern Lights Films and as per latest reports, Alaya F may have been roped in as the leading lady.
Alaya made a confident debut alongside Saif Ali Khan and Tabu in 2020’s Jawaani Jaaneman. The daughter of Pooja Bedi and granddaughter of Kabir Bedi has indeed had a promising start. Well, according to the latest reports, the young actress is all set to sign her third film. She is already on board the Hindi remake of the Kannada film, ‘U-Turn’, that saw Shraddha Srinath in the lead. The film is again produced by Ekta Kapoor.
Apparently, Alaya was in talks with the makers of ‘Freddy’ right from day one to be cast opposite Kartik. There were a couple of other names also being considered, but it looks like Alaya has raced ahead and bagged the project. The young star may soon sign on the dotted line and join Kartik on the sets of the film. Alaya’s role in ‘Freddy’ is being reported to be a ‘meaty’ one and the actress is quite pleased with it.
It was reported earlier that the project had been in the pre-production stage for the last three months and even saw a change of director. While Ajay Bahl was supposed to earlier direct the film, it will now be helmed by Shashanka Ghosh. The film is touted to be a romantic thriller and for Kartik, it would be a first in this genre. Post ‘Freddy’, Kartik will gear up for ‘Shehzada’, the Hindi remake of Allu Arjun starrer, ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo’, also being produced by Ekta Kapoor. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, this film will see Kartik reunite with his ‘Luka Chuppi‘ co-star Kriti Sanon, who is currently basking in the success of ‘Mimi’, that’s been getting her great reviews.
Kartik’s recent fall-out with Karan Johar, when he walked out of the latter’s ‘Dostana 2’, certainly doesn’t seem to be affecting his work. Besides these films, Aaryan also has Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Satyanarayan ki Katha’, Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and Hansal Mehta’s ‘Captain India’ in the pipeline. Well, the year sure seems to be looking great for Kartik and we can’t wait for further announcements!
