Many Alien fans watched a brief 10-sec teaser of FX on Hulu’s Alien: Earth series before watching Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus. The series has been written and helmed by Noah Hawley, best known for developing FX’s critically acclaimed Fargo series. The filming for the show wrapped up in July, and the show may come out in early 2025 as per some latest reports. Led by Sydney Chandler, the series also stars talents like Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, and Timothy Olyphant.
Alien: Earth takes place 30 years before the events of the original Ridley Scott’s Alien movie (1979). It will explore the events leading up to the Xenomorph’s introduction to Nostromo, the notorious space vessel that became the Xenomorph’s hunting ground in the first movie. The series could delve into the creation or initial discovery of that creepy and gnarly-looking creature, providing a deeper understanding of its biology and origins. Moreover, it could explore the role of the Weyland-Yutani corporation in the Xenomorph’s development.
The series is led by Sydney Chandler, who plays Wendy, an individual looking like an adult with a childlike mind. Timothy Olyphant plays Kirsh, Wendy’s trainer and mentor. The White Tiger fame Adarsh Gourav is Slightly, Lawther is CJ (a soldier), Davis is Dame Silvia, Young is Tootles, and Blenkin is Boy Kavalier.
The success of Alien: Romulus has certainly propelled the Alien franchise to new heights. The movie has minted over $108 million globally in its opening weekend and has been declared the best Alien movie in the last three decades by many critics.
