All Jurassic Park Films Ranked Before Jurassic World Dominion

The Jurassic Park / Jurassic World film series comprises two trilogies and ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is the sixth movie of the immensely popular franchise, which started with Steven Spielberg’s pathbreaking 1993 film ‘Jurassic Park’. For this article, we have ranked all Jurassic Park movies before ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ arrives in theatres on 10th June.

5. Jurassic Park III, 2001 (Streaming/Rent on Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Google Play, YouTube)

The film’s plot follows a mysterious businessman Paul Kirby (William H. Macy), who coerces the palaeontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill) for an unauthorized aerial tour on the ill-fated Isla Sorna Island from the previous film. But an unanticipated landing on the island forces Alan to use his unique skills and experience to get out alive.

4. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, 2018 (Streaming/Rent on Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Google Play, YouTube)

This Jurassic World sequel follows ex-Navy man and animal expert Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and former park manager Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), who return to the now destroyed theme park to save the remaining dinosaurs from an active volcano. But they soon find themselves amidst a dangerous conspiracy while saving themselves from new breeds of dinosaurs on the island.

3. The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 1997 (Streaming/Rent on Amazon Prime Video)

It’s a direct sequel to Steven Spielberg’s first film ‘Jurassic Park’ and is set four years after the events shown in the parent film. ‘Independence Day’ actor Jeff Goldblum reprised his role as the eccentric mathematician Ian Malcolm, who is sent on a mission by John Hammond to a secondary Jurassic Park site on the Isla Sorna Island, which still has genetically engineered dinosaurs. The mission is to document the creatures, but they encounter another team with a different motive.

2. Jurassic World, 2015 (Streaming/Rent on Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Google Play, YouTube)

Helmed by Colin Trevorrow, the film is set more than two decades after the events of the parent film ‘Jurassic Park’. The story is set on a recreated and now successful dinosaur theme park on the original Jurassic Park Island – Isla Nublar.

But when a genetically modified and intelligent dinosaur escapes captivity, it’s now up to former Navy man and animal expert Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) to save the park manager Claire’s (Bryce Dallas Howard) two young relatives. The film also featured Indian actor Irrfan Khan and ‘Lupin’ star Omar Sy.

1. Jurassic Park, 1993 (Streaming/Rent on Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Google Play, YouTube)

Based on Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel of the same name and helmed by Steven Spielberg, the movie was set amidst the backdrop of the fictional Central American Isla Nublar Island replete with cloned dinosaurs.

The park’s wealthy creator John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) invites palaeontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and his own grandchildren for a tour. But after a technical malfunction which allows some deadly dinosaurs to break free, the group must now save themselves from being hunted by these de-extinct killer creatures.
