The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is currently in its fourth phase and has churned out some interesting films and series so far. On the movies front, MCU Phase-4 has released six films until now. Although the present phase has been somewhat disappointing compared to MCU’s Phase-3 as the latter boasted of titles like ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Black Panther’. On the other hand, six movies have been released so far under the ambit of MCU Phase-4 and for this article, we have ranked all these films and alongside we have also mentioned their streaming platforms.
6. Eternals, 2021 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Helmed by Academy award-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao, the superhero film follows a team of immortal superheroes called Eternals who have been secretly living on Earth with humans for thousands of years. However, after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, they must come out of hiding and use their special powers to protect mankind from Deviants – powerful ancient beings. It features a star-studded cast including Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie.
5. Thor: Love and Thunder, 2022 (Not Streaming)
Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) search for inner peace is hampered by a formidable villain Gorr the God butcher (Christian Bale), who is hellbent on eliminating all Gods. Now, the Asgardian God of Thunder must team up with King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and former girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to stop this new threat from wreaking havoc.
4. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, 2022 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Helmed by ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Evil Dead’ director Sam Raimi, the ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel follows the adventures of the titular superhero Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), who tries to save a mysterious young girl named America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) who has the ability to travel between multiple parallel universes. But to protect her, he must join hands with powerful allies to face a formidable enemy.
3. Black Widow, 2021 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
The film takes place after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ where the highly trained former KGB assassin Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) must confront her dark past and strained personal relationships in order to stop a new unstoppable force. The film also featured Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Rachel Weisz in important roles.
2. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, 2021 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
The widely acclaimed superhero film follows the adventures of the highly trained martial artist Shang-Chi (played by Simi Liu), who is trying to live a normal life. But now the superhero must deal with his past after his estranged father and the misguided leader of the Ten Rings organization directs him on a dangerous path to find a hidden village.
1. Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2021 (Streaming on Netflix)
It’s a direct sequel to Tom Holland’s solo Spider-Man movies namely ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’. The film’s underlying plot follows a botched-up magical spell by Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) while attempting to conceal Peter Parker’s secret identity as Spider-Man from the public. But Peter Parker must deal with the repercussions when the spell eventually results in various supervillains (Electro, Green Goblin, Sandman, The Lizard, and Doc Ock) from alternate realities somehow entering his universe.
