Imagine a man finding the love of his life but also seeing the ghosts of his dead parents at the same time. Well, that is the premise of Searchlight’s upcoming project, All Of Us Strangers, starring Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal. Searchlight has dropped its official trailer.
The latest clip shows Fleabag fame Andrew Scott playing Adam, a screenwriter who lives alone in his apartment in London. One night, he bumps into his neighbor, Harry (played by Paul Mescal). From that moment, the two fall in love with each other.
However, something strange starts happening in his life. His parents, who lost their lives 30 years ago in a deadly car accident, appear to be living again in his old home. What’s surprising about this phenomenon is that they look the same as they did the day of their accident. The duo of Jamie Bell and Claire Foy play Adam’s parents.
This strange phenomenon becomes a way of treating Adam’s childhood trauma.
All Of Us Strangers premiered at this year’s Telluride Film Festival, where it received critical acclaim. The film currently has a 100% ‘fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 15 reviews. It takes inspiration from Taichi Yamada’s 1987 Japanese novel, Strangers. It will come out in theaters on January 26, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
