July is a hot and happening month for Indian films on OTT. A host of top-billed films have already begun streaming on various platforms from July 1 – Samrat Prithviraj, Dhaakad and more. And a huge number of films will hit streaming platforms in the later days of July, including the much-awaited films, Vikram and Major.

1. Major – Netflix, July 3, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil
‘Major’ is a biopic on Indian Army braveheart, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in the November 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. Adivi Sesh plays the titular role in the film. Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, and also stars Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Murali Sharma and Anish Kuruvilla
2. Operation Romeo – Netflix, July 3, Hindi
Operation Romeo is a romantic thriller film, directed by Shashant Shah. A night out for two young lovers turns into a horrifying experience for them when they’re waylaid by two terrifying strangers. Starring Sidhant Gupta, Vedika Pinto, Sharad Kelkar, Bhumika Chawla and Kishor Kadam
3. Paka – SonyLIV, July 7, Malayalam
Paka (River Of Blood) is a compelling drama, set in patriarchal, small-town India, where a couple decides to end the village’s unrelenting cycle of vengeance and blood-letting. Directed by Nithin Lukose, produced by Raj Rachakonda and Anurag Kashyap, starring Basil Paulose, alongside Vinitha Koshy, Nithin George, Abhilash Nair, Jose Kizhakkkan, Athul John, Joseph Manikkal and Mariyakkutty
4. Vikram – Disney Plus Hotstar, July 8, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi
A compelling police and gangster drama, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. A special Black Ops team is in the hunt for a bunch of masked vigilantes, even as hardened drug lords threaten a crime rampage. Starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Chemban Vinod Jose, with a cameo by Suriya.
5. Ante Sundaraniki – Netflix, July 10, Telugu, Tamil
Ante Sundaraniki is a romantic comedy film in Telugu, that centres on two people in love, but divided by their religions, and how the two strive to break norms and get together. Ante Sundaraniki stars Nani, Nazriya Nazim, Harsha Vardhan, Suhas, Rahul Ramakrishna, Naresh, Azhagam Perumal, Nadhiya, Srikanth Iyengar, Rohini, Prudhvi Raj, among others. It is written and directed by Vivek Athreya.
6. Kunjeldho – ZEE5, July 8, Malayalam
Kunjeldho is a romantic comedy, starring Asif Ali and Gopika Udayan as college students in love. An unplanned pregnancy out of wedlock brings trouble for the young couple, as they strive to win back the trust and support of their families. Kunjeldho is written and directed by Mathukkutty.
7. Hurdang – Netflix, July 10, Hindi
Hurdang is set in the backdrop of nineties India, amidst agitations against the Mandal Commission’s caste-based reservations. Sunny Kaushal stars as a high-caste aspiring IAS officer, who embarks on an agitation against the reservations. Hurdang also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, Vijay Varma and Shubhashish Jha, and is directed by Nikhil Bhat.
8. Janhit Mein Jaari – ZEE5, July 15, Hindi
Janhit Mein Jaari is a social drama that stars Nushrratt Bharuccha as a small-town, middle-class woman who takes up the unconventional job of selling condoms, much against her family and societal norms. Directed by Jai Basantu Singh, written by Raaj Shaandilyaa, starring Nushrat Bharucha, Paritosh Tripathi, Shaan Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala, Anud Singh Dhaka, Tinu Anand
9. Jaadugar – Netflix, July 15, Hindi
Jaadugar is a Netflix Original film developed specifically for streaming. It is a sports drama, centred in the backdrop of magic. Jitendra Kumar stars as a small-time magician, who must win the local football tournament to win his lady love. Stars Jitendra Kumar, Jaaved Jaaferi and Arushi Sharma, directed by Sameer Saxena and written by Biswapati Sarkar
10. Kolkatar Harry – ZEE5, July 15, Bengali
Kolkatar Harry is a Bengali language comedy and children’s film, set in the backdrop of magic. It is directed by Rajdeep Ghosh, and stars Soham Chakraborty, Priyanka Sarkar, Laboni Sarkar, Arindam Ganguly, Dipankar Dey, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Oishika Guhathakurta in prominent roles.
11. Vaashi – Netflix, July 17, Malayalam
Vaashi is a courtroom drama, centred on two upcoming, ambitious lawyers, played by Tovino Thomas and Keerthy Suresh. The two young lawyers share office space and have a close relationship. However, their relationship is put to the test when they find themselves on opposing sides of a crucial case.
12. F3 – SonyLIV, July 22, Telugu
F3 is an out and out comedy, centred on a pair of men dreaming up iget-rich-quick schemes to become overnight millionaires and get rid of their financial problems. Do their schemes succeed? F3 is written and directed by Anil Ravipudi, and stars Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah, and Mehreen Pirzada in lead roles.
13. Good Luck Jerry – Disney Plus Hotstar, July 29, Hindi
Good Luck Jerry is a black comedy, starring Janhvi Kapoor as a badass girl, who gets involved with unscrupulous elements to earn quick money. Things take a messy turn when her family is dragged into the crime caper. Good Luck Jerry stars Janhvi Kapoor, Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, and Sushant Singh. It is directed by Sidharth Sengupta, and produced by Aanand L. Rai and Lyca Productions.
