Enola Holmes 2
It is the sequel of ‘Enola Holmes’ released in 2020. This sequel is based on young adult novel of the same name by Nancy Springer. Millie Bobby Brown will again play the character of Enola, the sister of famous Sherlock Holmes. She’ll be putting all her detective skills to use to crack the mystery of a missing girl, her first official case as a detective. In this hunt, she’ll be needing help from her brothers. The filming of this film ended in January 2022. The final release date, which was earlier supposed to be in June, is yet to be announced. It will stream on Netflix. Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, and David Thewlis will also be seen in pivotal roles.
Damsel
The film is set to be helmed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Millie will play the character of princess Elodie. Innocent Elodie is asked to marry a prince charming to improve her father’s financial condition. She agrees to get married only to find out that she has been tricked! What looks like a marriage is actually a sacrifice. Elodie will be sacrificed to a cave dragon. Refusing to accept her fate, she will move mountains to save her life.
‘Damsel’ will be released on Netflix in 2023. Other cast members include Robin Wright, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Nick Robinson, Angela Bassett, Ray Winstone, and Brooke Carter.
The Thing About Jellyfish
Reese Witherspoon will be producing this film along with prominent Hollywood producer Bruna Papandrea. This film is based on the critically acclaimed 2015 children’s novel of the same name by Ali Benjamin. Millie will play Suzy, a dorky and smart girl. Suzy loses her former best friend due to a rare jellyfish sting. She refuses to speak to anyone and comes up with multiple theories to find a logical explanation behind her friend’s death. The movie has been in development since 2015 at Universal. Later, Netflix picked it up and will now release the film as its original work. The release date and other cast members are yet to be announced.
The Girls I Have Been
This upcoming Netflix Original is also a book adaptation. It’s based on the novel of the same name by author Tess Sharpe. Brown is the protagonist and also the executive producer in this project. ‘Ozark’ actor Jason Bateman is the other executive producer through his own production Aggregate Films. Millie plays Nora O’Malley, a con artist. She has learned all of this under her mother’s guidance, who is also a con artist. Nora will have to use her skills of persuasion and impersonation to get herself and her friends out of a hostage situation. ‘The Girls I Have Been’ is still in pre-production.
Other than these, she will again be seen in Netflix’s sci-fi series ‘Stranger Things’ season 5 as Eleven. Looks like Millie is fully packed for the next two years!
