The first teaser trailer for the much-anticipated animated spin-off anthology series ‘The Boys Presents: Diabolical’ or simply ‘The Boys: Diabolical’ from the immensely popular superhero show ‘The Boys’ was recently unveiled by OTT giant Amazon Prime Video. While the third season of the live-action show ‘The Boys’ will be out on 3rd June later this year, ‘The Boys: Diabolical’ will start streaming even before that. Release Date & OTT Platform
The spin-off anthology ‘The Boys: Diabolical’ is set to stream on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform from 4th March onwards.
Episodes
The series comprises eight episodes with a runtime of around 12 to 14 minutes each. All eight episodes will be simultaneously released on 4th March itself on Amazon Prime Video. An interesting thing about the show is that each episode will ostensibly have a different animation style.
Erik Kripke (‘The Boys’ Showrunner)
The showrunner of the ‘The Boys’ live-action series Erik Kripke also acts as one of the executive producers of the animated spin-off show. Regarding ‘The Boys: Diabolical’, Erik Kripke had previously said “We gathered together some incredible creators and we gave them one rule…just kidding, there’s no rules. They blew the doors off it, delivering eight completely unexpected, funny, shocking, gory, moist, emotional episodes. You think The Boys is nuts? Wait till you see this.”
Voice Cast
The actors who have lent their voices for the animated series ‘The Boys: Diabolical’ include the likes of Seth Rogen (The Lion King), Awkwafina (Shang-Chi), Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty).

The show’s terrific writing team includes eminent names like Awkwafina, Ilana Glazer, Andy Samberg, Aisha Tyler, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, and ‘The Boys’ author Garth Ennis.
Idea Conception
Two of the show’s writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg had earlier spilled the beans about how they got the idea to make a show like ‘The Boys: Diabolical’. It was revealed that they were ostensibly inspired by a series of animated short films titled ‘The Animatrix’ which were set in ‘The Matrix’ movie universe and their willingness to replicate the concept.
The Other Spin-Off
‘The Boys: Diabolical’ is not the only spin-off coming out from the parent series ‘The Boys’. The other spin-off is a live-action show that revolves around America’s only college for young adult superheroes which is run by the evil Vought Corporation, which is known for founding the elite but corrupt superhero team – ‘The Seven’.
