Pushpa: The Rise starring Allu Arjun got released alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man No Way Home on December 17 last year in India. People witnessed this high-scale box office clash after a long time during their respective theatrical runs. Ultimately, it was the charm of superstar All Arjun that reigned supreme over the hearts of Indian moviegoers. Despite a few setbacks, the movie broke various box office records within the first ten days of its release.
However, the ongoing COVID pandemic and the Omicron variant made things worse again for movies and cinema theatres. The hype behind the return of the holy Spidey trio in NWH worked pretty well for it. But the Indian films suffered the most in these critical times.
The makers of Pushpa were left with no alternative but to dispatch their product on Amazon Prime Video, way before the original schedule. Even Ranveer Singh’s 83 didn’t survive at the box office due to limited seat capacity and other COVID restrictions.
But good things always manage to shine the most. The same has happened with Pushpa. Despite all the current obstacles, the film has collected more than 365 crores globally. It is a very good figure, considering the present atmosphere of the country. More than a month has passed since the movie’s release. Still, it is going strong.
Pushpa: The Rise starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, and many more, is also available on Amazon Prime Video.
